OUT OF ZION 018 | ARE YOU READY TO CROSS YOUR JORDAN?

… ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan ….’ ” Josh 1:11

… make all the needed changes … to cross over the main issue between you and the next phase

Obedience is needed to experience the next phase of your life. You cannot sit still where you are and be expecting miracle to take place. Obedience is more than that done in the past, it is attending to the current instruction and avoiding alternative sacrifices to the biddings of God (1 Sam 15:22-23). You cannot afford to be sitting still after hearing from God. The leadership was instructing these people to get ready to cross Jordan. This is valuable for everyone in line with the next thing God wants to do. Just as it was for this people, provision has to be made for the next phase.

  1. It is time to move.

These people have been camping for a while to rest from their journey and possibly from their last military campaign and victory. Rest is part of God’s instruction and provision for the good of the human race (Gen 2:1-3; Mark 2:27). Though their camping was necessary, it was time again to break the camp and move on. Those in transit do not abide permanently at their stopover. For many of these people, they were possibly not set to move. Give them a choice, they will dangerously fold their arms a little bit more (Pro 6:10). While rest is not bad, redeeming the time is equally important. To convince yourself that you are where you should be will be a grave injustice to yourself and to the plan of God. It is time to move

  1. It is time to make provision for yourselves

It is time to make provision for what shall be needed as we break the camp to cross over. What are those things that will be needed to fulfil the next phase in the instruction that you have received? What are those things that you will need to do to get a different and a better result? You will need to do more of those things that have worked for you in the past and do better things that are essential for the future.

  1. It is time to pursue the real you

Can’t I just be myself is a question people ask in situations like this. The question is, who is the self that you are claiming to be? The self that needs to be reoriented? The self that needs to be buried to make provision for a better or a brand new you? The self that hasn’t been able to go beyond here and now? It is an injustice to God and to the true you to emphasise the self that was or that is. You are not in the past and more that this one here; you are that true self that must come out of this for the future (Phil 3:12). A grain of corn is a potential and not a full existence or it would amount to a waste. Jesus was the son of man that was meant to be the saviour of the world. To accomplish that, he had to look for the joy that was set before Him (Heb. 12:2). Stop just being yourself, pursue to realise your true self which God has set before the current you.

  1. It is time not to fall behind

Get ready to move with the company that God sets you in. Can you imagine any of them at this time desiring to stay back for a while more. This is what happens when people claim to be part of a team or a group but fail to align themselves with the system. They do not know that progress means sacrifice and lots of inconvenience. It takes lots of this to break to the next level personally and corporately. Get ready to change and get ready for more corporate participation. What is my identity and what is the unique value that I am adding? What vital contribution am I getting ready for? Without all these, I may be thinking that I am a part of a team while I am not. This is how people miss it before they get left behind or shortlisted for a sack. It is time to prove that you are a part of the community that God set you in to avoid being left behind.

You need to make all the needed changes now so as to cross over the main issue between you and the next manifestation of God in your life.
