OUT OF ZION 032| SPY OUT YOUR FUTURE AND THE PROMISE 2

“I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea … and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, …. And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. Josh. 2:9-11

It is good to know of the ultimate future; it is important also to be able to trace your way there. Now that you know where you are going, know to also trace the way from where you are …. One of the way to do that is to embark on an espionage mission just the way Abraham journeyed as a sojourner across the land of Canaan. Doing this is both dangerous and advantageous. The advantages outweigh if you see in a positive perspective.

When you are set to explore the prospects ahead, make sure you:

Do it WITH A FIRM PERSPECTIVE ON WHAT GOD IS ABLE TO DO. Ps 149:4 says that the pleasure of God in His people will cause Him to beautify them, when humble or submissive, with salvation. This indicates that though there will be challenges, there will be a way out by God’s saving grace.

Do it WITH THE AGREEMENT OF LIKEMINDED PERSONS who are either with you on the mission or who partner with you by healthily supporting or listening to you. You don’t need the crowd around you; you don’t need the hang-arounds. You need partners. Partners are either in agreement with you or collaborating with you for success. Look carefully at the context of Joshua 2 and you will see the difference between the mission in Num. 13 and the one here. The significant difference is that of number; not that of location; and not that of distance. It is the difference of attitude. While they were 12 at Kadesh-Barnea, they were divided in their attitude and perspective. The team of two that Joshua sent was together. If the attitude in Num. 13 is involved in Josh 2, the spies might fail by getting caught.

Do it by ensuring that the testimonies from the past go ahead of you to weaken every contradictory evidences or possibilities (the negative possibilities) – Ps 149:5-9. Most of us want the testimonies to ring forth on their own, but practically you will have to noise out loud whatever God has done for you. When you know to sing forth God’s praise, you are arming yourself with a lethal weapon to take the promises ahead. Stop whining or crying; start to praise and testify. Let the heavens, earth, and hell hear from you. Count your blessings and name them one by one.

The inside information for you today and every time you spy out the future is that THE LORD HAS GIVEN YOU THE LAND. Josh 2:9. Go and spend time thinking ahead in the light of the promise. Those around your allotment shall be terrified and fainthearted. Your own tool for fight shall be the promise and the testimonies of what God has done in your life in the past.

If the enemy is still rearing up its ugly head, engage testimonies of praise and fight with the word. Praise and the spoken word are tools for warfare. The honour of the saints is to know to use these to execute vengeance, punishments and judgement on the enemies of righteousness while insisting that the land is yours.
