  • Welcome to November 2017, Be Sensitive to Know Your Season.

    November 1st, 2017

God’s grace is always at work towards His people and in certain providential matters, towards everyone. The operation of grace however has its season; and certain grace comes with certain times.

When you recognise the visitation of God’s grace, you will know what to ask for. It cannot be everything for now. When you recognise the operation of God’s grace to save, you will discern the help which is available to you now, because there are times and seasons to a man’s lifetime.

To discern relates with to interpret. This we all do in the natural, in certain basic aspects of our human experience. The religious leaders in the time of Christ were versed in the art of interpreting the weather but failures when it comes to the matter of understanding the times or the seasons of their existence.

The words of Jesus indicated that every time has its sign, and that the signs can thus be used to know the times. This is more than what the clock reads; it is more of what the direction is for the season.

It is essential that everyone knows how to interpret his present time – Luk 12:56. The interpretation of the times has to do with the judgement of what is right – Luk 12:57; it is as simple as being able to see the indicators in a particular season to know what would or would not happen and how you should respond to make the right thing happen – Luk 12:58-59.

I pray for you this month, that your spiritual senses shall receive a fresh quickening to know and not to miss out on what this season of your life is meant for; that you will be liberated from following human trends or patterns from other people’s lives that humans are wont to follow because they could not recognise their own time and season.

Welcome to November 2017, be sensitive to know your season.

  • Stay Confident About God’s Good Plan

    October 26th, 2017

Divine direction is primarily about what God wants to accomplish with man; it is about the goal to be realised and not necessarily about the pathway to the goal.

Whenever someone has received direction from God, there is a surge of confidence, excitement, and zest. Everyone needs this to go and to take the blessing or the trophy of the promise that God has given.

Weariness and frustration only set in after you have hit the road and found things that are not described in the plan – the myriads of experiences and situations on the way.

God, however, wants your attitude all the way to be as it was in the beginning when you responded with excitement to His word to you.

The attitude that will inherit the promise is that which sees only the promise and is not reconditioned by the anything foreign to the promise –

    Hebrews 10:35-39

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

    “For yet a little while,

And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.

    Now the just shall live by faith;

    But if anyone draws back,

My soul has no pleasure in him.”

But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

    Isaiah 14:27

For the Lord of hosts has purposed,

    And who will annul it?

    His hand is stretched out,

And who will turn it back?”

  • God’s Plan For Life is Good

    October 24th, 2017

That God’s plan for your life is good and great cannot be overemphasised. Whatever He determined to do with your life will always be the best for you.

Whenever he communicates with you, it is largely about where He is taking you; what He wants to accomplish; and some particular time ahead of now. God’s guidance in the now will always be in tune with His major direction for your life.

    Rejoice!

    Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

  • Welcome to October 2017, Awake in God’s Likeness

    October 2nd, 2017

Welcome to October 2017. This is the goodness of the Lord, marvellous in our sight, as being alive is an indication that God’s plan is still functional towards you. Faithful is He who has began the good work in you, He will finish it.

As you enter this new month, join me to make Ps 17:15 your focus and meditation.

Amidst all the imperfect situations on earth, the Lord wants your focus to be on Him. Looking away from these troubles is like dying to them and being awake to God.

When you focus on the situations, you define them as true to you; whereas, when you focus on God, Himself and His word becomes your reality.

The discipline of looking into God in dependence on the Holy Spirit, energises your transformation process of becoming more like Him, of getting deeper into His plan; and of having more victory in your life.

David said I have set the Lord always before me and because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Ps 16:9.

Enjoy peace, victory, and growth this month as you keep your mind on the Lord. He will bless you with grace and glory, and withhold not from you every good thing needed for your life.

    As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness;

I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness. Psalms 17:15

Welcome to October 2017; awake in God’s likeness.

  • Counsellors Must Know That They Are Not God.

    September 4th, 2017

Counselors must learn in a counselling situation to look out for certain signals to know if they are going to a dead end or an highway into the future. Signs of a dead end are basically two:

    1. When the counsellee keeps attempting to generalise his/her peculiar situation. This happens when someone thinks everyone is in his kind of situation. There are actually two ranges in our social spheres:
    • The micro world, where individuals have their personal problems or prospects in their own personal situation.
    • The macro-world or the wider society where everything happens at the same time and in the same way to everyone in the society.

When personal experiences are interpreted as the issues in the wider society, change will never take place in that personal experience until he thinks differently.

    1. When the counselled has his/her mind made up on maintaining practices that possibly contributed to the existing problem. You had a 1st class from university and alongside that have a very bad personal culture. You are are counselled to look into your dress culture but you insist that the 1st class makes the difference. A counsellor should be able to see why no one would give that persons a job. If he is not willing to change, you may not be able to help him beyond remembering him in prayers for the Lord to tough the heart and help the person to see..

Willingness to use the help you offer is a sign of prospect in counselling. This doesn’t mean that the person being counselled cannot ask question or come up with some disputations. Intellectual engagement might be necessary.

But when the heart is stubbornly made up, you may need to check with the Holy Spirit in your heart to know if you should continue. The Apostle Paul had to depart certain locations, shaking the dust of the place of his sandals; He also was instructed by the Lord not to leave Corinth, as there were prospects there despite the disputations.

Even if you attempt to ‘cast spirits out’ of someone who is not ready to change his mind, they soon will find their ways back into him, since by his way of thinking there is a ready stage or foothold for them in such a life.

The mind that is not ready to change is one that you mAy not be able to help.

Counsel to let someone see what might be working against him. If he is not ready to agree, courteously let him go and spent your time on more profitable situations.

Jesus was only able to change those who used his teachings when he was here. He could not help everyone because of their unbelief – disagreement with the words He shared with them.
