  • Put Your Life in Order With God’s Word 2

    May 27th, 2015

God will not tempt you with evil or make solicitations for you to do evil. He will test you to prove you before you will move to the next level in the rungs of life’s ladder

    Bible Reading: Ex 15:22-27; 1 Cor 10:1-3

    ——————————————————

    God do test His people.

The word test means to prove. Trials put faith to proof. The integrity of faith is unknown until proven.

The test could be an outright arrangement of the Lord just like when He tested Abraham, Gen 22:2. The test could also be a divine utilisation of existing situation to test his people. Jam 1:3; 1Pe 1:6-7

Realise that though you have them coming from the same situation, test is distinguished from temptation.

Test is for proving you so as to move you forward while temptation is for pulling you down so as to mess your journey; test is from God while temptation is from the devil, Jam 1:13

God will not tempt you with evil or make solicitations for you to do evil. He will test you to prove you before you will move to the next level in the rungs of life’s ladder. His plan is for you to pass.

… “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” Ex 15:26

    Bible Reading: Ex 15:22-27; 1 Cor 10:1-3

    ——————————————————

Going the wilderness way is like going from trouble to trouble, whereas that is where there is need for one grace after the other, Jn 1:17. Imagine just coming through both the victory over the Red Sea and the burial of the Egyptians in it; Israel can only be confident and excited. While they were contemplating on the victory just won and enjoying some respite; praising and worshipping God for the miracles, another challenge popped up.

God will optimise situations to test or prove you in your journey. In the tests, God is not expecting you to react frivolously. A way out of frivolous reactions is to know that every word from God is to put your life in order. In as much as you adhere to His word you will enjoy his blessings instead of failing His tests.

  • Not Your Burial, It’s Your Baptism 7

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Cor 10:13

    Bible Reading: Exo 14:15-23
    —————————————————–

There in nothing coming your way that will be too much for you. The word of God says that. You may think it is too much for you but the word calls it common. It may not be exactly the same as your challenge, but the affliction of the same intensity and purpose is happening to your brethren all over the world.

The challenge that may be beyond you are the ones that will never be in your path; the Lord will lead you around them; they will not be in your direct path to the future. Every other ones that you face are those which you must conquer or bear as you stand strong in the grace of God which is within you.

No weight-lifting athlete ever receives the applause or the medal until he has been able to lift up and stand strong under the weight. To accomplish this you must be decisive about conquering or finishing your race, Heb 12:1-2. You can do that by flinging off you every superfluous and extra weight or luggage that you don’t need for the journey and every sin that easily distracts or that troubles persistently. These are speed killers and race destroyers. God will not deal with these for you; you will, however not by might nor by power but as you stand strong in His grace.

The example of Christ is there for everyone that we must look away from these light afflictions and allow them to work within us a far more eternal weight of glory.

A man only gets crowned after he must have conquered.

  • Not Your Burial, It’s Your Baptism 6

    May 24th, 2015

But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished! Luke 12:50.

    Bible Reading: Exo 14:15-23

    ——————————————————

Whatever the baptism is that you have to go through, it brings pressures and turmoil until it is over.

This is the picture painted by the Lord in Luk 12:50. He felt the weight of it but He could bear it. It was crushing on Him but He could look beyond it to the finishing point. The fact is that the distressing baptism is not only a passage, but also a process that shall come to pass.

In spite of the overwhelming pressures that tribulation bring, we can testify line Paul that: “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.” 2 Cor 4:8-10.

How do you feel today in your own situations? It definitely will feel, whatever it is, the way it was with Christ who suffered for us.

“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:” 1 Pet 2:21.

The distressing baptism you might be going through shall be accomplished, finished or completed. It will not swallow you; you will go through it and come out victorious.

  • Not Your Burial, It’s Your Baptism 5

… So Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink the cup that I drink, and with the baptism I am baptized with you will be baptized; Mark 10:39

    —————————————————–

    Bible Reading: Exo 14:15-23

    —————————————————–
That baptism is applicable to sufferings and life challenges was demonstrated by the Lord in Mar 10:38-39. The sons of Zebedee had approached him to request for special privileges or positions to be reserved for them in His coming glory or Kingdom.

He opined that they did not know what they asked for, the reason being that for every glory there are prices to be paid or responsibilities to be fulfilled. These disciples did not know that, hence their request.

Jesus asked them if they were able to drink the cup which he drink and be baptised with the baptism that He was baptised with. The cup and the baptism were used in the context to refer to the passion or sufferings that Jesus would go through.

The brothers responded that they were able. They were willing to go through anything to accomplish the desire of being at his sides in the kingdom.

Jesus told them that they will indeed be baptised with the baptism; they will indeed be submerged and immersed into calamities and affliction that will be overwhelming.

To be part of the coming kingdom, you will go through many tribulations. We can only reign with Him after we have successfully gone through sufferings for His sake.

It may be avoidable either by turning back or by using alternative options, if there is.

Everyone that will live a life that agrees with God will be baptised through trying times, 2 Tim 3:12.

The trying times are only passages into the joy ahead.
