  • Not Your Burial, It’s Your Baptism 3

    May 21st, 2015

    Every time you think about now, please think about it in respect of the future. You write you history with every word spoken and every action taken.

    Bible Reading: Exo 14:15-23

    ——————————————————

    When the children of Israel saw the Red Sea, they thought that it will be their cemetery. They regretted ever coming out of Egypt. They feared that they will have no headstone.

    Headstone was important to them. Headstone is a memorabilia that the coming generation will see to know that certain persons were here. An average person wants to be remembered, but not many think of what will be on their tombstone.

    Whether there is an epitaph on it or not, the tombstone will always reenact your epitaph. It will be obvious if not to all, definitely to some of what you did with your life. Don’t think that nothing bad will be said of you because you have departed, if not all, definitely some will discuss the good or the evil you did with your life whether you like it or not.

    What will your headstone read? Everyone must think about this.

    Every time you think about now, please think about it in respect of the future. You write your history with every word spoken and every action taken.

    What will you be remembered for and what will your report be on that day when you appear before the Lord.

    Shalom!

  • Not Your Burial, It’s Your Baptism 2

    May 20th, 2015

    “God has a different view of your troubles”

    Bible Reading: Exo 14:15-23

    ——————————————————

    The Red Sea was on the way of Israel and God was aware of that. He knew that the Red Sea cannot stop them, but that rather a way shall be made through it. The constant factor in their journey is that the nation must be settled into her Canaan; this was the will of God for them.

    The Red Sea was on their way to serve as a tool for and a part of the series of changes that they must experience as they journey toward Canaan.

    Each experience of victory should embolden and prepare you for things ahead. None of the challenges you face is in vain. God intends to use them for your good.

    When the people saw the sea, they concluded that they were doomed. Two things were materially obvious around them:

    1. There was no way to the right or to the left.

    2. There was no going backward or forward

    If they stand still, Egypt will either overrun them or take them back; if they go forward, the Red Sea will become their cemetery that will feature no headstone for any of them.

    The situation they found themselves in would not be enough to end their lives nor their story. Instead of thinking what confronted them will mark their end, God instructed them to go forward for He had a different view of the read sea and its significance for the people.Whatever it is that you are faced with cannot determine your end; it will only serve as your baptism.

    Shalom!

  • Not Your Burial, It Is Your Baptism

    May 19th, 2015

    Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, 1 Cor 10:1

    Bible Reading: Exo 14:15-23

    ——————————————————-

    The Red Sea experience if the children of Israel is significant to the contemporary Christian. Everyone will of necessity be faced with challenges that will possibly be overwhelming. Such challenges cannot mark the end of life; they are rather passages into the future.

    God’s plan is that His people will go through every challenge and come out changed. It is therefore pertinent for you to be militant while faced with life’s challenges and obstacles. They are part of the battles to be won.

    You must know that while pursuing the future, these obstacles will come and they will suggest hopelessness. Your responsibility is to treat them as obstacles that ‘must be crossed over’.

    Let the word of God instil faith in your heart and know that there is a joy that is waiting ahead, beyond every afflictions and challenges.

    Shalom!

  • Defeat Your Past By facing The Future 7

    May 18th, 2015

    Go Forward!

    And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. Exo 14:15-16

    Bible Reading: Ex 14:1-31

    ——————————————————-

    It is your responsibility to go forward and refuse the past.

    If you are standing in grace and the past comes for you, your vision or your dream, all you need to do is to go forward.

    When you hear again those negative voices in your head, trying to disturb or distract you, make it your business to go forward.

    When you see those mocking eyes and hear the taunting voices saying “what are they doing” Neh 4:3-5, go forward.

    Go forward with your rod (your significant endowment, skill or ability already dedicated to God) aimed ahead and a way will open up where there is no one. As you go forward, the past will get swallowed in your pathway to the future.

    Stay mindful of the future and as you do just that, God will separate between you and the past; your direction will become the defeat for the past; you will find your way forward; what opens up for you will swallow every harassment from the past.

    Your real battles are always ahead and not behind. You will only be able to face the future in readiness to punish every disobedience standing in your way, when you have been completely obedient at conquering every trace of the past bugging you. You can do that by practically leaving them where they belong – behind.

    Shalom!

  • Defeat Your Past By facing The Future 6

    May 17th, 2015

    You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 Tim 2:1

    Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Rom 5:1-2

    Bible Reading: Ex 14:1-31

    ——————————————————-

    stand strongWhen the children of Israel saw the Egyptians marching after them, fear enveloped them. The cried not in terms of prayer; they actually complained against God.For them dying in Egypt oe serving the Egyptians would have been better. They forgot right there  what God has done for them.

    Fear forgets God’s grace, but by standing strong in the grace that can be avoided.

    To stand means to maintain an upright position; to rest without disturbance; to be collected and to remain motionless; remain upright and entire; remain valid and unaltered. When someone learns to be mindful of God’s grace, he will be able to stand strong.

    When you stand in grace:

    • You will remember that you were justified, and justification gives you a good or legitimate reason to be;
    • You will remember that you are at peace with God;
    • You will see His glory coming;
    • You will remember “if God be for me, who can be against me” – Rom 8:31;
    • You will remember that there is none that shall condemn (disapprove, pass a sentence against) God’s elect, Rom 8:33, 34;
    • You will see God at work, fighting for you, and you’ll be at peace.

    Instead of forgetting What God’s grace has done, stand in the grace and the liberty with which Christ has set you free. Rom 5:1-2; Gal 5:1.

    The future is yours.

    Shalom!
